We know that an important part of the service we provide you is support to help you get connected and enjoying your Internet service. Below is some information you may find helpful. As always, we welcome your questions to help make the Internet more enjoyable and useful for you.

  • The Subscriber Support Help Desk: 800-628-5989 is available 7 days a week, 365 days a year (7:00am-10:00pm) for your convenience. We can help you with new user sign-up and Internet configuration questions. The Help Desk can also help with most e-mail problems. Other hardware or configuration issues may need the attention of you local computer professional. Our Help Desk may also be able to direct you to people in your area trained to help with most configuration problems on-site.
  • Email the Help Desk − Its easy to send us your questions by emailing us at support@heartland.net.
  • Give us a call − The easiest way to reach us is by telephone - 800-628-5989.
  • Need an additional Internet E-Mail account − Perhaps you require another e-mail account or two? No problem! Call Heartland Net Customer Service locally at 712-379-3001 or toll free at 800-509-3001.
  • Software downloads and upgrades − As Internet technology changes and advancements are made, you may from time to time wish to upgrade your web browser and other Internet software. These applications can be downloaded online right to your computer. For more information, click here to visit Google Chrome or here for Mozilla Firefox.

What you need to know…

Incoming Mail Server

  • Type: POP
  • Server name:

    mail.heartland.net

  • Port: 110
  • If you have an option for SSL – you do NOT want that option enabled.
  • Username: Your email address.
    (i.e. - jdoe@heartland.net)
  • Password: your password for our service

Alternate Authenticated Incoming Mail Configuration
(Note: When using IMAP protocol email is never truly downloaded to your device to be saved. If you delete email from any device using IMAP service it will be deleted from the server as well as any other devices configured for IMAP email. If you wish to have a permanent copy of your email saved to your device you should use POP email setup above)

  • Type: IMAP
  • Server Name:

    mail.heartland.net

  • Port: 143
  • If you have an option for SSL – you do NOT want that option enabled.
  • Username: Your email address.
    (i.e. - jdoe@heartland.net)
  • Password: your password for our service

Outgoing Mail Server

  • Type: SMTP
  • Server name:

    smtp.heartland.net

  • Port: 25
  • If you are asked if the SMTP server requires a username and password – or requires a login – you do not select that option

Alternate Authenticated Outgoing Mail Configuration
(Note: For use with your tablets, smart phones, or laptops used for traveling outside of our service area).

  • Type: SMTP
  • Server Name:

    smtp2.heartland.net

  • Port: 587
  • You DO want to select the options that the Outgoing Server requires authentication – or a username and password. Then insert your same username and password used for the Incoming server.
  • Username: Your email address.
    (i.e. - jdoe@heartland.net)
  • Password: your password for our service

To update your password use the link below. You must know your current password to update your password.

Webmail

You also have the option to log in to view your email on the web from any PC. Simply insert your username and password for our service.

Our email filtering service blocks unwanted junk and spam emails, as well as harmful viruses. Login here to review any quarantined email, as well as customize your filters and block or approve senders.
